Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Cloud Engineer role based in Houston, TX. The Cloud Engineer will design, implement, and manage cloud and hybrid infrastructures, ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable environments for client applications and services. Responsibilities include provisioning and configuring cloud resources, setting up networking and security controls, and maintaining Linux-based systems. The role involves collaborating with software development teams to support deployments, optimizing performance of cloud workloads, and managing databases used by client solutions. The Cloud Engineer will monitor system health, respond to incidents, document configurations, and contribute to automation and infrastructure-as-code practices.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Infrastructure and Cloud Computing, including experience with major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid environments.
- Hands-on experience with Linux administration, including system configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and shell scripting.
- Knowledge of Databases (relational and/or NoSQL), including provisioning, configuration, basic optimization, and backup/restore practices.
- Exposure to Software Development concepts, CI/CD pipelines, and collaboration with engineering teams to support application deployment and operations.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation), configuration management, and automation frameworks is highly beneficial.
- Understanding of networking, security best practices, identity and access management, and monitoring/alerting tools in cloud environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
